National League LogoBaseball fans are gearing up for the post season which will be here in just the blink of an eye. The National League pennant race is certainly getting interesting 3/4s of the way through the season and is sure to be a dual to the end in a few divisions. The National East Leading Washington Nationals are currently clinging to a 3.5 game lead over the suddenly slumping Atlanta Braves. Washington has a stellar record at home this year and will be one tough team to contend with for visitors in the playoffs. The Braves are slipping fast going 2-8 in their last 10 and they will need to quickly right the ship if they want to stay in the pennant race!

In the National League Central the surprising Milwaukee Brewers currently hold a 1.5 game lead over the Pittsburgh Pirates and 2 games over the Cardinals. The Brewers have been playing inspiring baseball all year long and have a winning record both at home and on the road. But it remains to be seen whether they have the pitching staff to compete with The Dodgers or the Cardinals. The Cardinals are not out of this by any means and if they can get in anything can happen especially with the way that Adam Wainwright is pitching as he leads the majors with 14 wins!

The National League West is already a two team race between the division leading Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers currently hold a 3.5 game lead over the Giants and hope that they can hold them off to the finish. Dodgers Yasiel Puig has been hitting the cover off the ball and batting .314 and has become one of the toughest outs in baseball.  Adrian Gonzalez has also been very productive and has driven in 76 runs so far this year.  The Dodgers stellar pitching staff features two 13 game winners with Kershaw and Jin Ryu. Last year the Dodgers went in as the odds on favorites to win the National League but their bats fell asleep in the playoffs this year they have something to prove!
